The Kaizen 16's team closed out a late-season one-day tournament in impressive fashion, going undefeated and bringing home the gold.
From the opening match, the team played with confidence, energy, and determination. Strong serving, disciplined defense, consistent communication, and a total team effort helped Kaizen control the court throughout the day.
The athletes continued to compete through every challenge and stayed focused when the pressure increased. Their ability to trust one another and execute as a team proved to be the difference as they completed the tournament without a loss.

The wait is over—the 2026–2027 Kaizen Volleyball Academy tryouts have officially arrived!
This is an exciting time for athletes and families as we begin building the next generation of Kaizen teams. Whether you're returning for another season or stepping into our gym for the very first time, we are excited to welcome you and can't wait to see you compete.
At Kaizen Volleyball Academy, tryouts are about much more than evaluating volleyball skills. While passing, serving, setting, hitting, defense, and game play are important, we also look for the qualities that define great teammates and future leaders. We evaluate coachability, work ethic, communication, attitude, competitive spirit, and the willingness to learn and improve every day.
Our name, Kaizen, means continuous improvement, and that philosophy guides everything we do. We believe every athlete has the ability to grow through hard work, quality coaching, and a commitment to becoming their best. Our mission is to develop athletes both on and off the court by emphasizing strong fundamentals, accountability, leadership, teamwork, and confidence.
Families can expect a positive, organized, and competitive environment throughout the tryout process. Our experienced coaching staff is committed to creating an atmosphere where athletes feel encouraged to compete, challenged to improve, and supported throughout the evaluation process.
For many athletes, tryouts mark the beginning of an exciting season filled with new friendships, unforgettable experiences, and opportunities to grow as players and people. Kaizen 16 at AAU Nationals
The Kaizen 16 team officially wrapped up an incredible season at AAU Nationals, competing against some of the top teams from across the country. Every match challenged our athletes to compete at a high level, and they responded with resilience, determination, and heart.
The tournament was highly competitive, and while we finished with a 5-7 overall record, the team saved its best for last by winning its bracket on the final day and bringing home some well-earned hardware. It was a fitting way to end a season defined by growth, perseverance, and continuous improvement.
Throughout the year, these young women demonstrated what it means to represent Kaizen. They embraced challenges, supported one another through adversity, and never stopped competing. Their commitment to getting better each day embodies the true meaning of Kaizen—continuous improvement.

One Year, Countless Steps Forward
Just one year ago, Kaizen Volleyball Academy began with a vision—to create a program built on hard work, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to getting better every day. Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable first season filled with growth, competition, and achievements that have exceeded expectations.
Throughout our inaugural year, Kaizen athletes competed against some of the strongest teams on the East Coast, traveling to tournaments in Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Along the way, they faced teams from 13 different states, gaining valuable experience and proving they could compete at a high level.
The numbers tell part of the story. Kaizen finished ranked 16th out of 91 teams in Virginia, earned 76 sets and 29 match victories, and accumulated 2,483 points as a team. More importantly, our athletes demonstrated resilience every time they stepped on the court. Many of our losses went the full three sets, showing the determination and competitive spirit that has become a hallmark of the program.
While we're proud of our accomplishments—including multiple Top 25% and Top 15% tournament finishes—the true success of our first season cannot be measured by wins and losses alone. It can be found in the friendships built, the lessons learned, the confidence gained, and the culture created by our athletes, coaches, and families.
As we reflect on our first year, we are grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey. This is only the beginning. Together, we will continue to grow, compete, and pursue excellence while staying true to the Kaizen philosophy of becoming 1% better every day.

This milestone represents much more than a facility—it represents the continued growth of our program and our commitment to providing opportunities for athletes to learn, compete, and develop both on and off the court.

Another Tournament, Another Step Forward for Kaizen
Kaizen added another tournament to the season this weekend, continuing to build experience and momentum as a team. The group came out strong on Day 1, going 3–0, showcasing confident play, solid execution, and great team chemistry.
On Day 2, the competition tightened and the team faced some challenges, but their effort never wavered. Even in tough moments, the athletes continued to compete, support one another, and fight through every point.
While the results didn’t fully reflect the success of Day 1, the weekend provided valuable lessons and growth opportunities. The resilience and determination shown throughout the tournament are a true reflection of the team’s character.
With another event under their belt, Kaizen continues to move forward, learning, improving, and striving to get 1% better every day.
Kaizen 16 Delivers Competitive Showing at High Tide Invitational
Kaizen put together a strong and competitive performance at the High Tide Invitational, finishing with an impressive 5th place overall. Facing a talented field, the team consistently rose to the challenge and proved they can compete with some of the top programs in the tournament.
The 5th place finish reflects the team’s continued growth and commitment to improving each time they step on the court. Coaches were proud of the effort, focus, and competitive mindset displayed throughout the weekend.

Kaizen Ignite Goes Undefeated to Capture Commonwealth Series 4 Title
The Kaizen Ignite team put together an impressive performance this past Saturday, finishing undefeated and earning first place at the Commonwealth Series 4 tournament. From the opening serve to the final point, Ignite showcased strong teamwork, consistent execution, and a competitive edge that set them apart from the field.
In the championship match, Kaizen Ignite delivered a complete performance, sealing their undefeated run and securing the tournament title. The victory highlights the team’s hard work, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement.

KAIZEN'S 1ST USAV national QUALIFIER!
Kaizen Volleyball Academy’s 16s team took an exciting step onto the national stage this past weekend, competing in its first-ever national qualifier and finishing with a 4–3 record.
Competing on a national stage not only tested the athletes’ physical skills but also their mental toughness and teamwork. The experience gained will serve as a foundation as they continue to train, refine their systems, and prepare for future events.

5TH PLACE FINISH FOR KAIZEN 16
The Kaizen 16 team delivered an impressive performance this past weekend at a two-day tournament, finishing in 5th place after entering the event as the 13th seed. The team showed tremendous effort and determination throughout the competition.
Day one saw Kaizen 16 play some of their best volleyball of the season, winning all 3 of their matches to advance into day two with strong momentum. Their aggressive play, communication, and consistent execution helped them outperform their original seeding and put themselves in contention among the tournament’s top teams.
On day two, the team split their matches, finishing 1-1, which secured their 5th place finish overall. The result reflects the continued progress the athletes have been making each week through their commitment to improvement and teamwork.

The Kaizen 16 team recently took on a new challenge by competing in its first USAV 3 day tournament, traveling to Knoxville for a weekend of high-level competition and valuable experience.
Entering the tournament as the 16th seed, the team battled through a strong and talented field, ultimately finishing in 13th place. Throughout the three days, Kaizen faced tough opponents and fast-paced matches that tested the team’s resilience, focus, and ability to adapt under pressure.
While the competition was intense, the tournament provided an incredible opportunity for growth. The athletes gained valuable experience competing against strong programs from across the region, continuing to sharpen their skills and build confidence on a bigger stage.
Beyond the results, the trip to Knoxville was an awesome experience for the team, giving players the chance to bond, compete, and represent the program with pride in their first extended USAV tournament environment.

THREE KAIZEN VBA ATHLETES NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Kaizen VBA is proud to announce that three of its athletes were selected to the 2026 Eastern Shore Showdown All-Tournament Team, recognizing their outstanding performances throughout the highly competitive two-day event. Congrats to Molly Diggs #11 OH, Ali Turner #22 Setter/RH, Caroline Diggs #14 Setter/RH.
Their selection highlights not only individual excellence, but also the dedication, work ethic, and commitment to growth that defines the Kaizen program. Throughout the tournament, these athletes demonstrated strong leadership on the court, consistent execution in all phases of the game, and the ability to perform under pressure against top competition.
Being named to the All-Tournament Team is a significant achievement and reflects the athletes’ continued development as high-level competitors. Their performances helped elevate the level of play for their team while representing the Kaizen VBA program with pride.

As a surprise bonus the girls were excited that they got an opportunity to meet and take a pic with former University of Michigan hitter Kendall Murray. This made their day!!
